Our take
The Mini is the iPad alternative that holds up. A child slots a physical card and gets a story or music: no screen, no feed, no autoplay rabbit hole, and, crucially, no parent needed to operate it. It is small enough to live in a travel bag and the nightlight clock earns its place at bedtime too. The cards add up in cost, but the independence it buys back is the point.
